Craps is a fast-paced, action packed, exciting game that offers a variety of bets on the layout. Each bet is dependent upon the point value of the uppermost side of the two dice that have come to rest after having been thrown by a player called the "Shooter."
- You win on 7 and 11 and lose on 2, 3 or 12 on the "come out roll" (the first roll). If any other number rolls, it becomes your "point." If your point rolls before 7, you win. After the "come out roll," if seven rolls before your point, you lose and the dice move to the next player. Pass Line bets cannot be reduced or removed after a point is established.
- The opposite of the Pass Line. You lose on the 7 and 11 and win on 2 and 3 on the "come out roll." When 12 is rolled, it is a standoff. If any other number rolls, it is your "point." You are betting that 7 will be rolled before the point. This bet must be placed before the come out roll. Don't Pass Line bets cannot be placed or increased, but may be removed or decreased, after a point is established.
- You can place a Come Bet at any time after the come out roll. It is like starting over, creating a whole new game within a game. You can win on 7 and 11 and lose on 2, 3 or 12 on the roll immediately following the placement of the bet. If any other number rolls, it is your "come point." If your come point rolls before a 7, you win. If 7 rolls before your come point, you lose. A Come Bet cannot be reduced or removed after the come point is established.
- The reverse of a Come Bet. You lose on 7 and 11 and win on 2 and 3 on the roll immediately following the placement of the bet. When 12 is rolled, it is a standoff. If any other number rolls it is your "don't come point." When the don't come point is established, the bet will be placed behind that number. Don't Come Bets cannot be placed or increased, but may be removed or decreased, after the point is established-but may not be replaced.
- (Supplemental Wagers) An additional wager in support of a Pass Line or Come Bet determined by the amount of the original flat bet may be made. Odds payoffs are 2 to 1 on Four and Ten, 3 to 2 on Five and Nine, and 6 to 5 on Six and Eight. Also, an additional wager in support of a Don't Pass or Don't Come Bet may be made. Odds payoffs are 1 to 2 on four and ten, 2 to 3 on five and nine, and 5 to 6 on six and eight. Empress offers the highest Odds in the Chicagoland area. Come Odds, Buy Bets and Place Bets are "off" on the "come out roll" unless called "on" and/or "working" by the player. The player is responsible for placing the Pass Line Odds and keeping track of all bets.
- May be made at any time. You may bet on any individual number (4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10). If your numbers is rolled before a 7, you win. Should a 7 be rolled after making a Place Bet, you lose.
- Buy Bets are exactly the same as "Place Bets" except by paying a 5% commission on the Buy Bet you receive the true odds. A "Buy" button denotes this bet.
- You may lay a bet against 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 at any time. In order to do so, you must pay a 5% commission based on what you win. A "Lay" button denotes this bet.
- A bet that a 2 will roll before a 7. This bet is only found at the Empress and pays 5 to 1.
- A bet that a 12 will roll before a 7. This bet is only found at the Empress and pays 5 to 1.
- A Field bet is a one-roll bet that can be made on the numbers 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 and 12 on any roll of the dice. All numbers pay even money, except 2 which pays double and 12 which pays triple. If any other number is rolled the bet loses.
- One-roll bets, two or twelve pays 30 to1, any Craps (2, 3 or 12) pays 8 to 1, three or eleven pays 15 to 1.
- A bet made on the 4, 6, 8 or 10 must be rolled in pairs; for example, a hardway 8 is two 4's. You lose if your number is rolled "easy" ie:
6/2 or is a seven is rolled. You can bet the hardways anytime. Hardways work/are "on" during the "come out roll" unless called off by the player.
